Systems for the lives we actually live
Everything I make comes from the same core: showing up as my actual self, communicating honestly for understanding instead of performance, and designing systems for the lives we actually live. I love it so much I'm doing it a few different ways.
What I do
Work with me
Learning systems, scenario design, curriculum, evaluation. Hire me for contract and project work; portfolio, case studies, and resume are all here.
Sidekick Studio
Custom operations apps for small business owners who are done duct-taping ten tools together. Built with you, designed for you. Start a project there.
Practical Hug
Co-founded with Sara. Community, tools, and podcasts, including The Village. Join the community or come listen.
Practical Tarot
Tarot as a way to think, not fortune telling. Book a session or do it yourself. For entertainment purposes, and I actually mean that part.
LaceyShares
The umbrella. Merch, experiments, and me figuring things out in public.
About
MEd in Instructional Design & Technology. MA in Communication. Mom of three. Daily tarot puller. Impatient systems user, never content with things not working.
I've spent my whole career translating complicated things into things people can actually use. First as an academic advisor, then as an instructional designer, then in enterprise HR tech, and now as someone who designs and ships whole systems with AI as a daily collaborator.
The through line is honesty. I don't do performance versions of things. Every system I build, whether it's a curriculum platform, a small business operations app, or a tarot deck used as a thinking tool, starts from the same question: what does this need to look like for the life someone actually has, instead of the life they keep meaning to have?
I pull a tarot card every day. Not to predict anything... just to think. It works better than it has any right to.
The platform thing
I have opinions and I'm good on a mic. The range is real: learning design one hour, chronic illness and shame the next. If you want a guest who goes deep without slipping into jargon or performance mode, my inbox is open.
